Guidelines with Kevin Cochran; Cass Lake, MN

The unusually warm weather has prolonged turnover and slightly increased the water temps which are from 61-65 depending on the lake.  Many of the shallow water fish have pushed out to primary breaklines which have been holding large numbers of perch.

Oddly enough, we are contacting fish in open water during the days that air temps have been in the 80s. Don’t be afraid to abandon the traditional shallow water run and explore the deeper breaks.

The colder temps ten days ago pushed fish shallow and Musky Frenzy staggers were the ticket. However, the majority of the fish have left the shallow sand and rock. With the current situation and the warming trend that is predicted Beavers, Medussas, and Pounders have taken center stage.
