    Anchormate 2 troubleshooting?

I've got two seldom-used Worth Anchormate 2's on my boat, and they must be almost 20 years old. They reel in fine, but have started sticking when releasing/dropping the anchors. Anybody have experience troubleshooting and repairing these? I am assuming it's lubrication failure, or possibly springs have weakened. I found a Worth video showing basic disassembly and reassembly, but with no detail about what to look for in terms of troubleshooting. New reel units are available for $70-100 apiece, but if I can fix these via lubrication, etc, I certainly would. Externally they look very clean.

Years back these units would start on fire and have some real issues. I would call the manufacture and see what they suggest. Good luck

Suspect that was motorized models. These are strictly manual cranking models. Basically, it's a reel with a clutch system for releasing/dropping an anchor.
