    Mid August Sabaskong Bay

My summer trip to LOTW will be August this year account family weddings in July. Any expert advice on location? I'm assuming main lake reefs and rocks with double tens, big rubber, and crankbaits. Sound right?

I am actually considering a trip west of Morson in late Aug/early Sept as well. I haven't fished the Sabaskong and west area in about 15 years. I know the bite is good in July, but is there a bloom issue that can significantly impact fishing in a bad way in that area in late Aug/early Sept? Or is that area always pretty heavily bloomed/stained?

I think as most have heard, it can get bloomed pretty thick in late summer. However the 4 times I was there in mid and late summer, it was never as bad as advertised. I think it depends on the summer. We did have some pea soup areas, but when we did have bloom issues in Sab Bay area, (East of Morson) it was better clarity to the NW of Morson, and the fish were biting.
