Looking for guide and/or waters to fish in Portage, WI area in September.

I'll be in the Portage, WI area in early September. Does anyone know of a good guide in the area, and a few places to fish (preferably rivers or lakes with boat rental)? I'm mostly interested in species that I have few chances to fish for at home. In addition to musky, I would really like to catch some northern pike, which I've never caught before, and walleye. Smallmouth would be a nice bonus.

Try Mike Collins. He's right in Portage. 608-408-6714.

I was also going to suggest Mike, but Gary beat me to it. We (Cap City MI) had Mike in our muskie school and I have sat in on the class and learn a bunch on how to fish the rivers.

The Wisconsin river right there is full of walleye, sauger and smallmouths. Some pike and a low density of musky. It is small boat water when the flow is low.

The Wisconsin has plenty of Muskies just north of Portage. Mike Collins knows where they are and he'll put you on them.
