    Curado power handle

I recently bought a power handle for my Curado 300. I cannot get off that nut that is on there. Any tips or tricks to it??

There should be a small retainer held on by a screw, that locks the nut in place.

Also the nut is reversed thread, so turn right to make it loose.

Was your Curado a 301 model?

That was critical information you left out. If I would have known that, it would have gotten an answer from me right away saying its a reverse thread.

The reason so many right handed folks buy those baitcasters with the cranks on the wrong side is back in the day, if you were to put the crank on the left side using normal right tighty and lefty loosey thread, the nut would walk off during normal use, so they made the reels with cranks on the other side making right handed people switch hands casting (and many do still to this day and lord knows why?). The machining operations are far more advanced these days and it not such a big deal to place reverse thread on a part.

Glad you were able to figure it out.

From Shimano or I've gotten a power handle from Dave's Reel Repair in Northern IL.

Noticed you are from Canada and the Shimano offices are:
    US Office
    Shimano American Corp.
    Reel Repair Service
    One Holland
    Irvine, CA. 92618

    Canada Office
    Shimano Canada Ltd.
    Reel Repair Service
    427 Pido Rd.
    Peterborough, ON. K9J 6X7

Or find the part number of the handle you want and google it and it should bring it up if you request a Canadian Company.
