What’s Happening on Lost Land Lake?

I will be fishing with my kids on Lost Land Lake in late July for the first time in 30 years. This is their first time musky fishing and I am hoping to guide them to a fish. I was wondering what is going on this year. When I was there in the 1980s, the pattern was a weedline bite with bucktails. Fishing got better in the evening.

    - What is the general pattern lately?
    - How is the cold winter affecting the lake?
    - Any thoughts on lures and colors?
    - Any other info?

Feel free to send me a PM if you prefer.

Water temps are good at 70 'ish as of july 19. Water is slightly blooming green which always makes it better in my opinion. I have not put many hours there this year but a few. Seen 3 fish in a couple hours there. Almost always a weedline bite since there are so many weeds. They can and will be anywhere in that lake. So much cover. If not showing up in weeds, (or hot water) try just off weed edges in deeper water. I like twitching minnows over/in cabbage and of course bucktails. Also Dawgs off the deep edge.
    Good luck, have fun.
