Got a short text after day one. Sounded like day one was pretty good. Haven't heard much since

Sorry for the late response (182 e-mails in my inbox, for example), but thank you for your interest.

We had 108 muskies caught with 21 of 45 inches or larger. The biggest was 51".

As Stormy said, Day 1 was pretty good. Then we got hit with a cold front and they didn't start biting again until Thursday, July 18, when we had 30 caught. Friday morning we woke up to another cold front.

Mayflies were still hatching early in the week. Water temps were 78 early and 74 when we left. Most boats had a dozen to more than 30 follows each day, but most would come in low and slow, or leave after a couple laps in the 8. Pretty typical for late June ... though this was mid July.

I hope to have an article posted Tuesday, 7/23. Lots of stats to compile in the meantime ...

I was thinking everything would be almost 3 weeks behind this year with the late spring.
