Proposed Statewide 40" Limit in Wisconsin

Today the FM Board of the Wisconsin DNR voted to put the proposed 40" statewide size limit on hold for another year. This means the earliest possible change to 40" from the present 34" size limit is the spring of 2012. Again, as the rest of the muskie world moves forward, Wisconsin remains in the dark ages of muskie management.

    Swell.

When the DNR's musky team proposes a higher limit and it doesn't go any further, it becomes apparent that somebody within the bowels of the DNR in Madison likes grilled musky.

We can always introduce legislation at the April 13th 2010 Conservation Congress meeting for a vote in some counties to force their hand.

Let's just hope musky fishing doesn't get as bad up north as the deer hunting. Nice job Madison.
