Jim Saric Inducted Into Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame

Musky Hunter magazine Editor and TV show host Jim Saric was inducted into the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame as a Legendary Angler during ceremonies at the Chicago Muskie Show Friday night.

NFWFHOF Director Emmett Brown made the induction speech. In attendance were Legendary Anglers Joe Bucher, Spence Petros, Larry Dahlberg, Steve Statland and Legendary Guide Bill Sandy. Also in attendance was Russ "Smity" Smith, who will be inducted as a Legendary Guide later this year.

Brown noted Petros had nominated Saric for the honor. He said the decision to approve the nomination was an easy one for the Hall's directors to make.

During his acceptance speech, Saric expressed his thanks first to his wife, Suzanne, and to his friends, sponsors and other partners.

On behalf of the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame (we know you musky angler consider everything else as just bait!) I wanted to offer our congratulations to Jim for this great recognition - it's a huge honor to be inducted into the FWFHOH- very well deserved for everything Jim has done for the sportfishing industry...

I can only add my hardy congratulations to this growing list of well wishers.

Jim has been a such a positive, forward moving, force in the "modern day" coming of age surrounding North America's majestic esox masquinongy that it is easy to forget his life-long efforts and numerous multi-species accomplishments along the way. He sets the bar pretty darned high, IMHO, and leads the way by example!

Director Emmett Brown and the NFWFHOF are to be commended for bestowing this honored recognition to one of our industry's most deserving members. Thank you for all of your work Jim and may good fortune shine brightly on your future endeavors.

Sincere thanks and best wishes for the coming season,
    Bob Osborne
