    Iron Co., Mich. reports?

How are the water levels in Iron Co. this year? I know I couldn't launch some places last year.

I heard some of the better musky lakes are very weedy.

Anyone have any tips for Peavy for me? Lotta water and the "wind-blown island point" pattern didn't pay off at all for me last year.

    Anything going on Chicagon?

Usually go up there every year, but won't this year. Peavey = pike heaven. The dnr did electroshocking and nettting a few years back on peavey and they got like 30 muskie and 3,000 pike, ya it's that bad. If lakes are really that low then Emily will be weed chocked and dirty because nothing flowing in. Best bet would be n wis.

Thanks, we'll get around to some lesser-known spots, then. I had heard they had a wet spring, but haven't heard much about summer. I did hear Emily's weeds are very bad this year.

Don't mind a few pike around, I'll have my 10-year-old son and/or 8-year-old daughter with me on Peavy. Have to keep them interested. Sounds like a morning trip spot.

I was going to stay away from N. Wis to avoid the Musky Open traffic, at least early in our stay.

Well if you have your kids with there is no better place than Peavy. Just have them cast a spoon over weeds or if they don't want to cast just have them sit there and jig the spoon over the side of the boat, guaranteed pike and lot's of fun. Just make sure you got your pliers because the pike will swallow the spoons LOL

    Thanks.

We're also planning a trip to Eagle River to check out the Musky Open show and Minocqua to check out Rollie and Helen's. Any other shops I need to hit besides R&H, Eagle Sports and Guide's Choice? I live in tackle-poor West Mich.
