The Saint Paul Saints baseball team has the perfect Minnesota motto:
    "We won't Break Your Heart"

    Greg Ide
(I believe U of Minnesota Stadium was built entirely with donations and naming rights. About $250 mil, I think. I like it, but don't care much for the lack of beer)

    RE: A decision to Ponder?????

One other thing that seems to get lost in the whole debate is the fact that the Vikings will play a whopping TEN games per season at this proposed stadium. On those off years when the stumble into the playoffs there might be 11 or 12 games.

At least with the twins your bringing folks in 80 times a year, the Wild 44 times a year, so those revenue streams are a little more significant. TEN measly days a year is how often the Queens will bring "consumers" into the Arden Hills area!

I saw some #'s thrown out there on just what the cost PER GAME would be to taxpayers for the initial outlay, if they play in the new facility for 25 years. It was a pretty staggering number considering. I think it was something like $2MIL or $3MIL a game, each and every game, for those 25 years. And that didnt include cost of operation, maintenance on infrastructure(ya know, something there doesnt seem to be much $ for these days) increased law enforcement etc etc etc.

Another number I have yet to see discussed is just how much it will cost to implement the increased sales tax. Obviously there is going to be more work somewhere to pluck out that 1/2% that goes to the stadium funding from the remaining sales tax revenue.

Kudos to Mr. Ponder! There's something for Vikes fans to be excited about.

...and just think, had the Vikes started this rebuilding process and working in a young QB when they should have two years ago, they might actually be in first rather than last.
