    Storm Giant Flatstick 22

    Guys,

I just got one of these lures...it looks really good on the twitch and I can see it catching many fish for me. However, while fishing it I discovered that it did not float. Is this typical of this lure? I cannot find (on the Storm website) any information to confirm or deny this finding.

While I really like this lure, it is of little use to me as a sinking model.

    Thanks in advance.

Yeah I guess they kinda just lay in the bottom of the boat. Just lay there and do nothing. Not like there was anything to do.

Jordan the three I have all float. I really like the looks of this bait, but they have not been munched on just yet. As you said a great flash to them and are easy to twitch out. I like that they rise fairly slowly. A lot slower than a Jake or grandma. Plan to silence one to see if tat make the difference on the water I fish.

The three I have all float though they are not very buoyant - slightly more than neutral. I have three fish on one of them and like them a lot. My experience this year is that the rattles are much more pronounced when the bait is worked slowly. I can see where Travis fishes that the rattles could be a detraction but on LOTW and the rivers I fished the bait has produced.

That is one loud rattle on that bait, and I can see where that could be good. I was actually hoping it would draw the suspended fish from a greater distance, which it may, but they may be turning off after the initial interest. II have only fished it in clear water.

Shane good to hear it has produced for you.

Since everyone else says their's floats, I wonder if they make a sinking and floating model? If yours is sinking fairly slowly, I wonder if using a lighter leader would help?

Yeah Dave-thought about that, I'm using a stealth floro leader...i guess i'll put it a sink full of water to see if it floats without anything attached or I will just modify it "Vilas County Style" like Travis mentioned.

    Ohhhh, Pud...

    Thanks guys!
