    Gee... thanks John }(

I put a larger hook on the front already... which is probably the root cause of the "issues" I encountered. Thus, I'm looking for ways to improve my "improvements".... heh heh heh.

So... I either need to accept/use the smaller stock hooks or experiment with some modifications. I think John already knows which direction I'll head ;)

Heat shrinking the rear hook on topwaters is not a good idea. On most baits the weight of the hooks is used to balance the bait and stop rollovers. Heat shrinking hooks is only really needed on cowgirls so the rear hook does not tangle up in the tinsel. No reason to heat shrink otherwise.

Larry Dahlberg advises adding the shrink tube to the rear hook to increase the hook up % on the "nippers"...on his website.

Picked up two at the Chicago show this year. Threw them at vermilion last week. Great sound !!

Only thing I did have happen is that the rear hook gets tangled on the rear spinning prop about every 10-15 casts.

Has anyone spoken to Larry about this ?

I'm gonna try shrink wrap on the back hook; great lure otherwise.

    Good Luck,

    Tim
