    Lure color for brown water

The river I fish has a lot of farmland runoff and is usually a brown color because of it. What lure color do u recommend for these conditions?

I recommend whatever you like. Not being evasive, but they see in their environment better than we give them credit for - witness night fishing when a color change, but exact same model lure, gets the bite. Or when my MN friend came over with a box of "clear water baits" and fished my brown water for a weekend. I lost one. He caught three and had other action. Bring or develop confidence in a few baits and use them, hard.

Pink, it looks like a different shade of orange in brown water.

I personally like brighter colors or baits with more contrast and noise.

I usually say, that the colours are not important, as long as they are either blue/silver or red and white (red head).

I always go with these colours when I fish in a new water, or should try a new type of lure

Other then bright colors try baits with blades and ratlles. Noisy baits are easier to find.

Definately agree that beyond color and perhaps more important is the noise of the lure. Also, brown water might also be a good time to add some scent to the lure.
