    Possible new WR!

I know there are many experts on this board that can help me determine if this is indeed the World Record wild turkey.

Shot Saturday April 23, 2011 in Chippewa County

43 pounds (on a verified big buck scale)
    11.5" beard
    1 1/8" spurs

For the time being the lucky hunter would like to remain annonymous. There were four witnesses, but only one might pass a B.A.T.

    TOTALLY LEGIT!

The really crazy thing about this bird is that the hunter's wife had actually applied and bought him a turkey tag for his birthday thinking he may enjoy a spring turkey hunt. He's really a deer hunter at heart but thought he might as well give it a try.

When we ran into him at the registration station he really didn't even seem very excited that he shot a 43lb tom. In fact when we mentioned that it might be a world record he said, "well, I'm not a turkey hunter anyway, I was out looking for good deer hunting spots and this bird just happened to walk by so I shot him"

I really hope we can get this guy in touch with some of the experts out there and get this bird verified.

There is no possible way that bird is 43 pounds. You can clearly tell by the mold that was made from it that it is smaller. Using Photometry you can figure out that the bird being held at a 87 degree angle has an influx of 7 plus or minus pounds when in correlation to the size of the puddle in the background.
