    Shoes for Fishing

    Hi,
I have kind of a weird question but what the heck, I'll ask it anyway. Last year I bought a pair of Merrell shoes that I fished in. They were ok but seemed to loose its cushioning and support as the year went on. Does anybody have any suggestions on some good quality shoes/boots that you wear that give good support and cushioning for fishing in all day long?

I go barefoot in the boat... Just learn not to have lures sitting all over :) :) :) Also when you fall in, its easyer to swim....Experience taught me that.
But if your looking for comfort, mabey look for a boot so you will have ankle support.
    Good Luck

I posted this question years ago and people laughed, but for some of us it's a real issue. Some peoples backs bother them, some peoples shoulders, some peoples arms but for some of us it's our feet.

I've tried it all over the years, tennis shoes, work boots, light weight hikers and the only thing that I'm comfortable in all day is a good pair of flip flops. Laugh all you want, but for some reason it is what I've found that I'm the most comforatable in.

Reefs are the best, followed by Quick Silvers :-)

Hey wait a minute!!!!!! That's not fair. There is no one best pair of shoes to throw both double 10's and pounders!!!!

Just remember when your shoes wear out you will be back on your feet again.

Low cut Timberlands for warm weather. Six inchers for cold weather.

Esoxriebe mentioned insoles. I spend a lot of time on my feet and have found that a good pair of insoles can transform so-so shoes into really good ones.

Good ones aint cheap and you might have to try a couple of different brands before you find the right one.
