    This is big

    Tom Gildseth, Minocqua, WI, Vilas County lake. 54 1/2 inches, 43 1/2 pounds. Killed itself by swallowing a Bull Dawg. On display at Captain Hook's in Lake Tom.

    there are no big fish on the minocqua chain

    how in the world can you fish with jetskis and pontoons zooming past all day

    gotta be a lie or photoshopped ...

    BIG fish..that's several this year in WI I have seen in this size range. Woulda liked to see it swim away but what are ya gonna do I guess..

    I don't know Tom, but I know of him and know others who know him well. If it swallowed a Dawg and died, I believe it.

    Congrats to the lucky angler. What a gorgeous fish!

    It IS typical that on this and other boards the guy is (or will be) being called on the carpet for legally harvesting this fish.

    Will we ever go back to presumed innocent before proven guilty?

    Doubtful.....and sad. x(

    AWESOME FISH, congrats to the angler.

    Steve and some of the other seasoned musky anglers:

    If this fish was 43.5 lbs at this time of year, what is a reasonable amount to think this would weigh in late Fall? I am relatively new to the sport and am interested to know what you guys think.

    Is it unreasonable to think if this fish was caught in Mid-October it might weigh over 50lbs? 55?

    Just wondering what everyone thinks.

    tom caught a 43 lber back in 2000, or 2001 that was 1st or second in the vccm on a bulldawg. pretty damn good to get a 40 lber every ten years in wisconsin, congrats on the big fish
