    Favorite Northwoods Watering Holes

There's a pretty darn good thread here started by jonnysled entitled, "Northwoods Wisconsin Good Ole' Days".

Spinning off from that, there are quite a few favorite places we all have after a long day spent in pursuit of whatever........

Just a few I think I might like if I tried:

    1.Thunderbird
    2.Bent's Camp
    3.Skyview
    4.Bear Den

    What about your's ????

I have become fond of the "Bear Bar" in Winchester with it's later hours of serving food, you also have the opportunity to look at a " 60" " recent catch out of Lac Seul up on the wall

Yeah, I'm callin it the Bear Den but the Bear Bar is probably right. Used to be a live bear in a cage out back at one point.

    I love Garmisch, husky.....but I think it's haunted. lol.

Echo Point on Nam is a good one too.......

Around the Corner Pub in Mercer is not bad, about the only one in town that has more than 3 people in it. The bar in the Great Northern Motel can be fun when they have alot of customers.

Hey ToddM, did you ever try a "Pub Burger" at the Around the Corner Pub? Holy crap! That's a burger!!!

I stop at places outside of town (Mercer), mostly. I like the Gateway Lodge, right on the TFF; Beaver's Resort has a nice little tavern that is always fun, and I've been treated like a long lost friend by people I've never met when I've been there.

I stop at the Around the Corner Pub if I have to run to town. Great lunch, too.

I like to stop in Hazelhurst on the way up. I think it's called the Watering Hole, on the right side of 51, cactus on the sign. Clint Eastwood and John Wayne pictures on the wall. Always have fun there. (I guess that makes it my post office stop, eh?)
