Two places that come to mind that I didn't see mentioned already that I remember from when I was a kid going up north is my Grandpa & Grandma taking me to Henkleman's museum when I was really little, not 100% sure the exact location but I think it was on 70 east out of Minocqua? Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong. I also remember the big gunny sack slide on the corner of 51 and 70 west (where McDonalds is now) and always wanting to stop to go down it and my mom always telling me that slide was too big for me. LOL!!

This is one of the best threads I have ever seen. Really puts a smile on my face.

I found this travel guide at the family cabin in Woodruff a few years back. It is called "Wonderful Wisconsin" and it is completely full of gems (such as the map of the Chip...calling it "The Unpolluted Chippewa Flowage"). Too many to list here. Full of ads for restaurants, lodges, hotels and attractions...with incredible pictures throughout.

Here's a few pics...if anyone wants me to look for an ad for a particular resort or anything, let me know.

(No idea why these are showing up sideways...)

    Here's the book...

Yep, and when Mike got bigger he would pick up his dad, Dave, so he could read the musky chart, too. :P

Remember going to Indian Trail in 1961 and was hooked right away. The fisherman, the guns and the beauty of the Chip. The story how Spray caught his fish right in front of the resort. I then spent a lot of time at Hermans, the place to be on the lake and got to know Dave D very well and many of the locals. I remember Dave telling me the Spray fish was as big as his brother as they all claimed world record. I got to thinking about that and realized the whole family never got to more than about 4' tall, so the record stories lost some luster to me.

    Thanks for posting those.

I believe the reward is now $100,000 - offered by the Moccasin Bar. No real worry about that ever happening !

Has anyone in this group in the past stayed at the Interlochen Woods Resort in Hazelhurst Wisconsin?

Hello, I was wondering if there is any mention of the Interlochen Woods Resort in this book?
