Big musky caught behind Ty Sennett

Last Summer in early July the weather for our annual trip to the flowage was crazy. Windy and gusty and cold but thats what its about. Fished a wind blown bay next to Sylver's Point and saw a good fish every pass. We saw 6 good muskies in there throughout the trip but reluctant to hook one of these nippy fish. Went into this Bay the last night only to see Ty Sennett coming out, you never know in musky fishing so I made the decision to go in there anyway and on the 4th cast my wife caught a 49 incher on a creeper at boatside. Sorry Ty.

It's easy to tell which guys consistently catch nice fish, they are the ones who don't need to brag about it

What did you mean by your post? It almost seems like a backhanded slam towards Ty.

This was not meant to slam anybody, Ty is one of the best in the business. By no means was I bragging, well maybe a little for my wife, but I just mean that in this sport sometimes u can fish a spot right after a person and still catch fish. Sometimes without knowing that somebody just went through it.

    Okie dokie....
I know it's sometimes hard to convey the meaning or tone of a message when writing, abd you are new here, but I think that both the title and message made this look like you were trying to boost yourself or put Ty down.

But I agree - I've caught fish behind plenty of boats. I caught a pretty nice one in early fall once right behind a boat with 4 guys. They were all throwing Cowgirls and fast moving topwaters. I came behind with a Weagle and caught a good one and had some others up. I think it can be a good idea to fish behind other boats, but try to do something they weren't.

And don't worry, I'm sure Ty would have been happy for you.

    Suragallery-
I applaud your wife on her musky catch. That must have been quite a thrilling fishing experience that you will both remember forever.

So proud of her for handling that brute so close to the boat. She truly is my life along with my daughter who maybe one day will enjoy the sport as much as I.

I bet that fish had been stirred up right before you went through. It's kind of like the 3rd person in a boat having all the action. I think it's a fairly common occurance on darker water.

I was at the Chip last august and went home early. The weather was awful and we weren't seeing anything.
