I agree that when I swapped to the longer split grips my accuracy, casting distance, and figure 8's all improved. I recommended the 8' mh because I fish alone most of the time and 8' is what works...

Merry christmass and a happy new year!
I prefer split grip and the ltm series. But one of our sons has the mojo and the other a premier. I'd recomend either one in an 8' mh. Myself I really like split grip so I'd lean towards the mojo....
The revo toros are awesme. I like the 50 size best. For the lures you mentioned I'd get the hs.
I agree an 8' mh rod would be a great start. For reels you could get a 6500 abu or the shimano cqrdiff. The net and release tools are almost more important than a nice rod but both are necessary. A...
Good luck out there it should be a blast. I've only made it there twice so far and both times were with a guide so I have no tricks or secrets that are mine to share. Sharp hooks and keep on your...
X2 On hiring a guide. Vermillion is a big body of water. Must be several hundred islands and reefs. Especially being newer to muskie fishing a guide will advance you a ton in a short period of time....
It you're looking at a record I would take that money and shop around for a revo toro instead. They do make them in lefty and you should be able to get one for the same pice as a record. The last...
For stained water the best I've found are costas green mirror.
Try some bucktails, topwater, 6" phantom softails, reg dawgs, some cranks. Always figure 8 or large circles will work. Keep your hooks razor sharp and most of all make sure you have the proper...
As mentioned get a feel for both of them. I have a couple 60s and 3 50s. I prefer the 50s and also prefer the hs for the baits you mentioned.
Happy fathers day! We will be hitting the water shortly.
Awesome I gota track it down for android.
Where did you find app what's it's name
Yeah I know what you mean. It's easy to get stuck on something you've been having luck on. It's almost like wearing blinders lol. Then when you finally try one of your older tricks and get back into...
I don't have the sling blade but love bignasty for 10's and up, dawgs, larger cranks, and some topwater. I could easily use it for even more baits.
I make my own with different blades. I fish them more like a bucktail using mostly dbl tens. Like most baits they have their moments some days it's the trick and others you're better off with a...
Water is mid 50s. Gliders did best for us. They were slow and nipping.
Oh yeah 4 on gliders 1 on a dawg.
Sat the oldest boy and I each got one. Sun I got 3 and lost one had several other follows. 3 out of 4 were on the 8 for me. They were coming in late and low. Yesterday they were shut down never seen...
Still gota decide wich lake to hit. Usually start with tails but will probably start with a crank this year.
I have a winch, a 5.4, and 3 hs. Easy to tell my favorite. I use the hs for blades up to dbl 8s, small rubber up to reg dawgs, all of my topwater, jerk baits, gliders, and some of my smaller cranks.
Lol that's awesome
I have a 14'er with the terrova and it hangs over quite a bit.. 4+ seasons so far and no issues. I have also been considering a quick plate with padlock so I could use a cover while trailering...
Most years I start throwing topwater on opener. Not so sure about this year yet. Let the fish tell you but for me most times out bucktails and topwater will get thrown.
