Maybe I'm old fashion but I still use Berkley cross lock snaps. Yea certain lures are a little bit of a pain to get on, but so far never a failure, and weeds don't catch on them.

Rusty crayfish are a good place to look, they can wipe out weeds in a hurry.
Around Hayward most of the smaller lakes are open as of today, even many parts of the chippewa flowage. But the big deeper lakes (over 1,000 acres) no, they still have ice. Calling for high wind this...
If you have a single axle trailer don't get plates. I have never been questioned on it and I am pretty sure my rig is over 3,000 Lbs.
spam post above? electronics have come a long way since this post from 2014
I remember last year hearing about some giant fish Joe caught in Canada that was going to be on a episode this year. Was that the one I saw him catch on last weekends show? They said near the end it...
I have thought about doing it also but the drive going up through Warroad really isn't that bad. If you hit those gravel roads early in the morning the dust is not bad at all.
Very nice fish but judging size by a picture with the camera lens about 2 to 3 feet from the fish can be very deceiving. Let the tape measure tell the true story. It is funny I just heard a rumor of...
I just got back Sunday, the bloom is starting to get bad. Making it almost impossible to see a follow in some spots. And weeds starting to get pretty slimy.
Ok I did find it, yes it is still 54 inches.
Not trying to start a C&R war here. But I was looking through the Ontario fishing regs. and as best I could tell they are saying the muskie size limit in Ontario zone 5 to keep a muskie is 40 inches....
So how did you guys do at the musky school? Any fishing report yet?
Yup we were hit bad I would not take hyw 27 north out of Hayward either. Hyw 77 west of Hayward to Minong is also washed out. Right now hyw 70 west to 53 then north on 53 to Duluth is ok.
Dang I did not know Beckman nets were no more. I have 2, the newest maybe 15 years old I still use. The loops that did rip I patch back together with small zip ties. They are all aluminum and the...
I have flipped more than one musky into the other side of the net, when fish got stuck on the outside. Poop occurs.
Thanks for the laugh. Trollers are a different breed, they don't consider themselves lazy. It is tough work sitting there watching tv, I mean your sonar.

Besides holding the fish properly, imo the 2 main things are quickly swing the boat around so the sun is at the back of the person with the camera, and take your dang sunglasses off.
I also caught 3 fairly big pike two 34" and a 39" pike as well as two big smallmouth all on bucktails. For us almost all the muskys came after 4:30 pm. we only had to put on rain gear one day all...
Had a decent trip to Lake of the Woods nw angle last week. I caught 8 muskys 47 inch biggest. Most action was on bucktails. Water was very high.
Was it on a double 10? I noticed Saric saying the cowgirl bite was on.
Checking the Facebook feed it looks like Steve Heiting popped a 53" last Friday on LOW. I am heading up this Friday can't wait.
The way this year is going you may be breaking ice 3rd week of Sept.
I think more people would be ok with it if it was limited to one rod per angler.
I bought some of those directional slip bobbers this summer for walleye. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. I like the idea of being able to anchor in a wind and have your bobbers spread...
