My brother, Ken and four other guys fished Chads Lake on the Ottawa River earlier this month. Our first outing on the OR and we were hit with winds and waves all week, making for tough fishing. Nevertheless we boated nine muskies, 33-41", all by casting. Lost five and had 15 follows. We mostly fished the upper section of the lake and found that the muskies were keyed in on one color: red. Six of the nine muskies were caught on a red tinsle cowgirl w/ red fluoro blades. Ken had the only one of that color, and he caught the biggest musky for the week (photo). Next time we may try one of the lakes farther downstream, probably below Ottawa City. I wonder what the magic color will be there??
