View Full Version : Eagle River Chain trip

I am going up to the eagle river chain this weekend camping with my family. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips for musky, lures, colors, areas to fish? My son has yet to be in the boat when I've caught a musky and I know he'd love to see one! Any help appreciated.

Not sure where you are staying, but we used to camp on Cranberry and did pretty well within 1 mile of the campground. There is a submerged stump field on the northeast side of the lake that was one of our "go to" spots. The big island also can be good in 8-12 feet of water.

Many of the areas between the lakes produce as well.

Suicks always seemed to produce but I would imagine that a guy couldn't go wrong with a Cowgirls as well. ;)

Let me know if you need any, more detailed info.

Thanks a lot. I'm heading up in less then an hour. I appreciate the information. I hope my boy gets to see one of the toothy critters. I don't think he has the patience yet to fish for them but watching a fight and release of a musky may speed the process up!
