i'll be at leech lake for the opener ,driving 11 hours to get there, using my childs college fund for gas,....june 7th....never been there before.......we will be targeting muskies and any other species that will be willing to bite....i've heard from many people it's not the best place to be for the opener....any tips for leech would be helpful.....walleye,northern, bass,etc....normally don't use live bait...catch and release on everything.....we'll be staying at brindley's

Shallow, shallow, shallow. Behind Bear Island in the Sheep Pastures, Sucker Bay, inlet from the Gov. Landing and most of all, don't forget to check out the large sand flats. Contact Murph, he'll know exactly whats up this year. Musky Hunter has web and# Good Luck, TC

Correct me if I'm wrong Muskybait but I assume he's talking about where the Federal Dam boat launch is there is a long inlet you pass to get out to the lake {Portage Bay}.
