Hi, just wanted to let you know that you have made a good choice with Nielsen's. I have been going there for fourteen years and have enjoyed every minute. I caught my first 50 inch fish there and quite a few 47 - 49. I guarantee that you will move a number of fish over 50 during your trip, getting them to bite separates the men from the boys! Rowan is an 80,000 acre lake, if it is feasible I would recomend that you use a guide the first day is that doesn't work just start at camp and work you way out. The guides are great, very knowledgeable and will get you started. They are all pretty serious musky hunters, food is great accomodations are great. The best times to go are the opener, the very beginning of July and from mid August through September. If I can answer any other questions please ask.

Hi,

We've been guests of Nielsens for 20+ yrs. The reason is nothing but ++++'s. I can only say ditto to what Ray has expressed. Class operation all around, from accomodations, equipment, boats, & guiding. Don & Paul, (guides), are the best on the lake & will take you where you need to be. Nielsen's regulars are a quiet bunch! If your looking for pristine waters, challenge to your fishing capabilities, shot at at a trophy, only one place I can recommend on Rowan. Nielsen's Lodge!

Ray, hope to see you at the lodge on the opener...Silvia & Gary Sptizer.

2 years ago a group of 20 went up there and had a ball. It was perfect. I lost a 53+ incher trolling for lake trout, had him at the boat 3 times but the lodge only had one musky net amoung 20 of us. We couldn't net it with a bass net. I eventualy broke the lure not the line. It was on a thin, thin spoon. It was about 10 compressed tinfoil sheets. However they did catch trout. It was great to catch northerns as well unless using a soft plastic bait.
