I was wondering if anyone could tell me about McMaster Lake in Snakeden Hollow. How's the fishing been, good lures and color, spots to hit? My brother and I are thinking about heading up there this weekend. Thanks.

I am not sure the lake has filled back up yet. They drained it some to build the dam and make the lake bigger, the ramp is well out of the water. It also has not been stocked in 3 years and won't be if the state cannot come by more fish. Storey and sule are in that same boat.

The lake is still way down. No way to get a boat in unless it is a canoe or very small jon boat. It may take quite a while to fill back up to get boat launched. Maybe a year or two. With $3.00 per gallon gas I didn't want to see you make a trip for nothing. Take care and good luck...............TC

I found on-line a story in the Peoria newspaper that someone had caught one, I think, over 50 there a couple months ago. He may have been fishing from the bank, judging from the picture. As dry as it has been, it may be quite a while before it fills up, if they are finished working on it. You could always call the site office to get the most current information. Dan Vinovich, I'm sure too, could be most helpful.
