I fished Eagle in 2009 late summer and it was my second time musky fishing Canada (the first lake was Cedar) in the initial stages of my musky influenza. Stayed at Century and the fishing was outstanding. Bob M. Was filming a show that week but other than him and another boat the south end was practically ours. Cemented my hunger indefinitely. It was a numbers week but all stout low 40's fish with a couple monster sightings (throat narrows spot) Raising youngsters limited my outings greatly and I havent been officially cleared for full takeoff mode. My uncle just returned from Eagle and told a slightly different story from our experience in 09. They were still getting numbers but those fish were down in the 30's range and the big ones they saw sparingly were the low 40's fish. He ran into a lot of the guys staying at the lodges on the north side who were searching and speaking very similar language.
The pattern last week was cabbage present in the weeds near break.
Just a bad week perhaps?

My brother and I just returned from LOTW. We boated 8 Muskies in four days. Had a bunch of follows on the bucktails, but had better luck in boating them with crank baits. Used mostly lipless cranks. I think the big blade bucktails pull the fish out, but I can't get them moving fast enough to disguise their identity. I'd have to troll to get them fast enough and I enjoy the casting.
I'm going to try Eagle lake.

I'm fishing the Inlet on LOTW and the algae bloom is very thick on the western part of the inlet including Monument Bay and the area just east of Monument Bay. Having better luck moving more eastwardly. Some of the islands around Falcon are holding Muskies with cleaner water. Supposed to turn cold on Thursday and a bad case of lock jaw is expected.

Just returned from the Inlet Angle. The first four days the fish were biting, but the cold days started. The air temp was 36 and the water surface temp dropped from 59 to 51. I think the guys trolling were catching fish. I'll have to learn how to troll. Do you guys troll deep or just the same lures?
