University of Esox Announces 2019 Musky Schools

Two musky schools at two popular locations have been scheduled by the University of Esox Musky Schools for the 2019 fishing season.

Jim Saric and Steve Heiting have announced their Summer Musky Tactics school will be held at St. Germain Lodge and the adjoining Fibber’s Restaurant June 7-9, 2019, and the Canada Musky Adventure school will be held at Sandy’s Blackhawk Island camp on Lake of the Woods’ Northwest Angle the week of July 13-20, 2019.

“We have conducted each of these schools for more than 20 years,” noted Saric, the host of “The Musky Hunter” TV show. “I think that’s a testament to the areas where the schools are held as well as the amenities of the resorts with which we work.”

The Summer Musky Tactics school wraps eight hours of seminars around a weekend of musky fishing in the popular Vilas/Oneida County region of northern Wisconsin. The package not only includes classroom and dockside sessions, but two nights lodging, all meals, a welcome bag, class materials, and a chance at hundreds of dollars worth of door prizes. This is a bring-your-own boat event, but students who choose the guided option will spend all fishing hours in the boat with an instructor.

St. Germain Lodge is run by famed northern Wisconsin guide Rob Manthei, who assists with the school.

The Canada Musky Adventure includes 15 hours of seminars during a week-long fishing vacation. In addition, Saric and Heiting conduct twice-daily information sharing sessions which keep everyone dialed into the current patterns. The Canada’s school package also includes lodging, all meals, dockage, a welcome bag, class materials, a day fishing with an instructor, and hundreds of dollars worth of door prizes.

Blackhawk Island camp is owned by legendary LOTW guide Bill Sandy, who helps out with the event and is available to students for guiding.
