“I actually had the dream of starting a musky magazine almost 15 years before it ever became a reality", claims Bucher. "The more I got into musky fishing, the more I became frustrated with the lack of articles on muskies in existing publications, and the lack of content in most of the musky articles that did appear.

“On top of that, there was simply no media outlet for musky manufacturers to advertise products, and musky customers to seek them out. We needed to develop a musky specific magazine to change this, and we did!”

Bucher was the original editor and publisher of the magazine for its first few years before turning over the reigns to Jim Saric. Bucher maintains a high profile as a regular contributing writer. “This is exactly what I had envisioned for the magazine, and I'm 100% happy with the direction it has taken. I intend to stay heavily involved Musky Hunter for years to come,” he said.
