The staff at Musky Hunter, usually quite politely, refer to Roger Sabota as the "Old Man of Musky Fishing". During the 2006 musky season he completed his 53rd year of pursuing those unpredictable critters and the 28th year as a musky guide.

Roger owns and operates C&R Guide Service with 20 member guides, working throughout the greater Rhinelander, Wisconsin area.

Roger is a Field Editor for Musky Hunter Magazine and for Wisconsin Outdoor Journal, plus has a weekly column in the Rhinelander Daily News entitled "Northwoods Notebook." He assists the University of Esox Musky Schools as an instructor.

He serves as chairman of the Oneida County Conservation Congress and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Wisconsin Conservation Congress. He is a long-time board member for Bill’s Musky Club, the Headwaters Chapter of Muskies Inc., the Wisconsin Outdoor Communicators Association, and the World Musky Hunt. He represents the Headwaters Chapter of Muskies, Inc. on the board of the Wisconsin Musky Club’s Alliance.

Roger is on the Pro Staff for Ranger Boats, Mercury Outboards, St. Croix Rods, Frabill fishing equipment and Suick lures.
