Field Editor Jim "Murph" Murphy of Walker, Minnesota, operates the Leech Lake Guide Service, fishing the Leech Lake area.

Long known as a musky expert, Murph is employed by Thorne Bros. during the off-season as one of that well-known tackle shop’s expert staff members. He’s also a popular seminar speaker and has fished successfully in numerous tournaments, including an eighth place finish in the Simply Fishing Muskie Tournament on Lake Vermilion in 2004.

Murph serves on the pro staff for Eagle Tail, Fudally Tackle, Frabill, Quantum, Motorguide, Thorne Bros. and Fig Rig Rods
