"Follows! Follows! Follows!"

This is killing me. Went out the other day after work for a couple of hours. First cast with a baby shallowraider ripping and in comes about a 35"er but changed his mind at boat side. Next cast with a drifter super stalker and here he comes again. Figure 8 again only deeper this time and bigger but he just sits there. I kept 8ing for about 12 times just in case since I couldn't see him any more but no luck.
Next cast down the shore and here comes about a 44"er and my heart gets going. She's looking good and coming fast for the shallowraider but goes right by when I start the 8. I kept up the 8 for a while but no luck. This clear water and dead calm days will drive a guy nuts.
I've had close to 20 follows so far with one short strike. My first fish this year is coming hard. I hope you guys have better luck.

Mark

Hi Mark,

I don't know what your complaining about at least your getting a line wet. I'm going out for the first time this morning mainly to make sure the boat runs. I noticed that you're from Washington my grandpa lives in Bellingham where are you from there? I was out there when I was a kid and had the oppurtunity to do some camping in the Cascades near mt. Baker. It sure was beautiful country. Getting back to your follows two seasons ago follows was all I was getting also. The first half of that season was rough. Then the follows changed into biters for no apparent reason. I ended up with 32 fish that year and only 9 of the fish I caught that year came before August 15th. Stick with it Mark its just one of those things your seeing fish and that is half the battle. Have a great season and keep us posted as too how things are going out there.

Thanks

Dave

Dave,
I'm in Puyallup, about 3 hours south of Bellingham. Nice country up there. Climbed Mt Shuksan a couple of years ago. It's right nest to Baker. We do plenty of camping and hunting in the Cascade Mts. I sure like the space w/no folks.
Went tonite after work. Saw one nice fish but "no" follows. LOL
Bustin my ##### for this first musky. Payin my dues I guess.
